Sapphire with a hint of Ruby

shoes Navy and red is such an easy, yet classic colour combination, which is what I've been going for recently in my outfits. All of my clothes still aren't organised properly, so I'm going for "easy yet classic" outfits.

This is what I wore the other day. I actually rediscovered this dress in the move. (the wardrobe in my old bedroom had a knack for hiding clothes) I adore the tiny red bow details on the pockets (I have a bit of a thin for tiny bows!)

Uni goes back this week as well. I'm simultaneously looking forward to it and dreading it. The bulk of my work at the moment hinges on me composing a lot of pieces, which I tried ot get done over the break, but ended up with really bad composers block (which, as you can imangine, stints the compositional process immensely. I'm coming out of it now though, so hopefully I'll have the bulk of the work finished by week 3 ish 4 ish)

without jacket I also can't wait to get back into sewing. I've not sewn anything new in over a month because of uni and work and the move. I'm really missing it (I've got a half finished skirt packed away in a box just asking to be finished!)

Market madness

I participated in the Davistown markets today. It was a long, but great day.

It was a pretty quiet day, and I didn't sell many pieces (I sold two pieces. Of those my mum bought one (I don't think it really counts if your mum buys it)) but it was ultimately a good experience. It's given me the motivation to revive the etsy store I started (I'll post a link once I get this up and running!)

Anyway, enough about markets! This is what I wore today.

I figured because it was a 'seaside' market that I'd go with something 'sea'  themed.

All in all it was a good day!

wpid-20140722_124254.jpg Man, this weekend has been hectically fun! Rohan and I traveled down to Adelaide on Saturday morning for Avcon (which is the Adelaide version of supernova) He was on a panel about Chip Music, and Played at Avcon after Dark as a part of the Sound Bytes performance. When Rohan wasn't doing things with bleepy bloops, we were hanging with the rest of the musicians. Not only are they pretty cool dudes, but their music is pretty darn amazing.

Here's the list of artists for the evening (I highly recommend you check them all out because they're all a bit brilliant) Xanadox http://xandox.bandcamp.com, Victory Road http://v-road.bandcamp.com/, Dot.AY http://dot-ay.com, Derris-Kharlan (Featuring Tiasu) http://nathanantony.com, Little-scale http://little-scale.blogspot.com.au/, Ctrix http://ctrix.net.

As for what I wore, I wore my icecream skirt. (I've posted it twice in the last 2 weeks, so I doubt any more pictures of it need to be posted for the time being :P)

Now onto what I wore today:

This is yet another skirt I made during my summer break. I haven't worn it in forever though probably because I wore it once a week for 6 weeks after I made it at work, so I got a bit sick of it :s. You can't see very well in these pictures, but the waist band is scalloped around the lower edge.

Also, can I just rave for a minute about how cute my dogs are? These photo's were taken in my back yard, which is where my dogs chill, so of course they had to be included in the photo fun times!
