Changes

Shoes Rohan and I got approved for our first property today, meaning we'll be moving into our first place before the end of the month. It's super exciting and a little scary, but I'm looking forward to this new adventure.

It'll be weird not calling my parents house home anymore. I've lived here for 20 of my 22 years of being alive, so I've never known anything different. It's not a huge change of scenery (we're moving a 10 min drive away) but IDK, it's a big change for me.

Apart from that exciting news, I spent today recording flute parts for the button collective ep and album today, which was super fun. We managed to get 8 songs recorded in 3 1/2 hours, which is pretty darn speedy (I'm amazed my brain didn't collapse from all of the concentrating!)

Looking

So yeah, this is what I wore to record in (Because my outrageous clothing is totally audible in the recording) I'm pretty sad I didn't get better photo's (That's what happens when you have to shoot in un-natural light in the evening.) Serves me right for not getting dressed sooner!

legs crossed

Speaking of Button Collective! I have 3 gigs with them, and one gig with Vanishing Shapes (Technically it's the same gig. My friend Ess-em who also makes super rad tunes booked a gig for her birthday, and booked both V Shapes and B/C to play <3) coming up in the next few days.  So yeah, If you live in Sydney and are interested in hearing some rad folk music, details are on The B/C and V/S pages.

Flower Space Princess

shoes Man it feel good to be back on the sewing machine! I haven't sewn in so long because gigs/uni/work/life. I also made another flower crown because why not!

This fabric has been burning a hole in my sewing box since May (or was it April?). I bought it while I was on holidays in Kiama with my family from a teeny tiny quilting shop. The pattern reminds me of the glow in the dark stickers you stick on the roof to make glow in the dark galaxies. The material I used for the bow is this ridiculous shiny organza material which I've had forever. It's a bit of a pain to sew with, but it looks so pretty.

skirt details

spinning

As with most of my skirts, my pattern is self drafted. It's a 3/4 circle skirt with a gathered trim edge. This is becoming a fairly standard pattern in my self drafted arsenal. I love the way it moves, and I love how full the gathers make the skirt.

I've got another skirt in the works. It's unlike the skirts I've sewn before, which is fun. I'll have to finish it this evening so I can wear it tomorrow :3 (This may or may not b the start of a sewing binge...)

wpid-c360_2015-01-14-18-23-00-448.jpg Aww man, today was so hot. Like you can't stand in the sun without burning to a crisp kind of hot.

The only thing of note today that happened was going for a crispy walk with Rohan along the cycleway. Before he came over and informed me of the disgusting temperature outside I was considering wearing a very light cardigan (I'd been in air conditioning all day and was feeling slightly chilly.) I am so so so glad I did not wear a cardigan. (I was hot enough in the outfit I wore today)

I also discovered a cute new spot to shoot in. I didn't managed to capture it today,  but there is actually a really cool gate hidden behind my body. (I'll capture it next time I promise.) This is the part of the yard Dad stores all of his excess bits of wood and various pots. With the little vine growing on the fence it made me feel as if I was some sort of run down secret garden.

Fairy dreams

wpid-c360_2015-01-07-19-10-51-453.jpg I decided to dress like a fairy yesterday.

I'm surprised that it took me this long to style that skirt this way. (especially with the flower belt), but I got there in the end.

I also put my hair up in pigtails for the first time in a year. I'm in desperate need of a haircut. (my hair is too short for most hair styles, but too long for all the short hair styles.) I don't really feel like me when I have longish hair.Believe it or not, my hair grew past my butt in primary school, and I refrained from having it cut until I was about 12, when I got my hair cut super short (I wanted to have anti gravity anime hair at that age, but the hairdresser wouldn't let my mum purchase the products to do it, nor did my mum have enough knowledge to be able to guess her way through that sort of hair style)

I'll keep this one short (unless you particularly want me to go into great detail about my ironing ha ha)

Fox Skirt feat. My dogs!

wpid-c360_2014-12-01-18-49-23-445.jpg I decided to take photos of yesterdays outfit in the back garden.

wpid-c360_2014-12-01-18-38-26-950.jpg

My favourite thing about taking photos in the back garden is that I get to have my dogs in my photos

wpid-c360_2014-12-01-18-39-41-267.jpg

The dog I'm petting in the photo above is Bubbles. We adopted her 9 years ago from the local RSPCA. We adopted Noodle a year later. It's weird to think we've had them so long because they both act like puppies. (although, noodle is the most puppy like. As much as I love her, she's a bit dense...)

So Yeah, Dogs are great!
